Ramona Jean Maggard 84 of Glasgow died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green after a short illness. Born at Tracy, KY, she was a daughter of the late Willie Jefferson and Bertha Wheeler Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband George Taylor Maggard, a brother Ray Glendon Jones and a sister Barbara June Pickett. Ramona was a homemaker, former teacher, nurse, employee of George Ford Jeweler and with her husband operated Maggard Insulation. An Elder's wife, she was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ and was a former 4-H leader and a member of the Bethel Homemakers Club. She is survived by a son, Michael Maggard of Florida; 2 daughters Diana Maggard of Glasgow, Gayle and Marshall Kerney of Glasgow; 6 grandchildren Michael (Jessie) Maggard II, Erica Maggard, Marc Maggard, Brandon (Amy) Kerney, Megan (Danny) Elkins and Grant Dawn (Kris) Furlong; 9 great-grandchildren Hunter Marsh, Trevor Kerney, Nick Kerney, Alexis Furlong, Hayden Elkins, Grayson Furlong, Addison Elkins, Katie Maggard and Taylor Maggard; 1 brother Roy Douglas (Joyce) Jones of Glasgow; 3 sisters-in-law Dean Jones of Bowling Green, Marjorie Maggard of Kokomo, IN and Margaret Maggard of Loda, IL; her former daughter-in-law Mary Lynne Powell of Glasgow; her caregiver April White and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday, June 15th at the Refuge Church of Christ with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home after 12:00 on Saturday and until 11:00am on Sunday, and then continue at the Refuge Church of Christ from 12:00 until time for the service.
