Waldo E. Gibbons 84 of Glasgow died Friday April 12, 2013 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Hershel J. Gibbons and the late Sara Elizabeth Sherfield. Mr. Gibbons was a Farmer and a US Army Veteran during the Korean conflict. He was a member of DAV Chapter 20, Woodman of the world since 1950 and a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Survivors include his wife Blondel Gibbons of Glasgow; 1 son Randy Gibbons and wife Reyna of Glasgow; 3 brothers Walter Gibbons and wife Ruth of Cave City, Earl Gibbons of Glasgow and Douglas Gibbons and wife Linda of Glasgow; 1 sister Ruby Smith of Cave City; sister in law Bessie Gibbons; several nieces and nephews and a close friend George Washer of Cave City. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 1 son Danny Ray Gibbons, 2 brothers Louis and Arthur Gibbons, 3 sisters Alice Bowles, Alma Chase and Effie Chase. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday April 15, 2013 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 12:00pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.
