Alice Faye Brown, 82, of Edmonton, Kentucky, passed away on November 30, 2025, at the Metcalfe Healthcare Center in Edmonton, Kentucky. She was born on June 13, 1943, in Edmonton, Kentucky, to the late Thomas Taylor and the late Gertrude Smith Taylor. Faye's interests reflected her vibrant spirit. She was often seen with a camera around her neck, capturing the smiles and moments shared with loved ones. Her commitment to her church and the camaraderie with her church family were also instrumental to her life, illustrating her deep-rooted faith and the importance of community.
Faye worked at Sumitomo from the time it was established until her retirement, demonstrating remarkable commitment and professionalism throughout her career. In addition to her professional achievements, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who cherished her family above all else. Faye was married to Charles Brown for 36 years, a partnership filled with love and support.
Her joy was amplified by her role as a grandmother, and she adored her 12 grandchildren: Carla, Lori, Guy, Charles David, Alan, Tobby, Homer, Gideon, Tyler, Kayte, Eli, and Ryan. Her family continued to grow, as she celebrated the arrival of 19 great-grandchildren: Samuel, Allie, Dalton, Bryson, Ava, LeeAnn, Justin, Ayden, Daylee, Turner, Lexie, Charlee, Copelynn, Henry, Elijah, Isaiah, Dante, Willow, and Lilly. Faye's life was woven with the threads of these familial relationships, which provided her endless joy and purpose.
She leaves behind her husband, Charles Brown; sisters Brenda Ballard (Herbert) and Judy Key; brother Gary Taylor (Linda); and stepdaughters Faye Bailey (David) of Edmonton, Janet Bailey (Ricky) of Greensburg, Tammy Jolly (David) of Glasgow, and Gena Riley (Emry) of Horse Cave. Faye was also cherished as an aunt to several nieces and nephews, and she regarded many of her coworkers as close friends.
In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward "Eddie" Poynter; stepson Wesley Brown; brothers Johnny Taylor, Phillip Taylor, Thomas Jr. Taylor, and Bobby Taylor. These losses were felt deeply, and she carried their memories with her throughout her life.
The funeral service for Mrs. Brown will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 7th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday, and Sunday morning until the time for the service at the funeral home.
