Avon Higdon

Avon Ruth (Hack) Higdon, age 68, of Caneyville, KY passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Spring View Nursing and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY. She was born on July 6, 1944 in Grayson County the daughter of the late George and Margie Brooks Hack. Her occupation was nursing; she was a member of the Summit General Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Bill Higdon of Caneyville, one son, Owen Preston (Jennifer) of Maryland, five daughters, Faye Stewart (Donnie), Kay Daley (Michael) and Janie Gipson all of Caneyville, Kathy Sue Knicklebien (Tom) of Wisconsin, and Joann Sandlin of Leitchfield, four sisters, Patricia Thompson and Connie Hack both of Eddyville, JoAnn Mudd of Caneyville, and Teresa Shoemaker of VA, ten grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 1, 2012 at at 11:00 a.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Jerry Weedman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Shrewsbury Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until Time Of Service.
