Betty Ann Pitcock, a cherished member of the Glasgow community, passed away on November 3, 2025, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on November 7, 1940, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to the late Woodrow and Catherine Thomason Forbis.
Betty’s professional journey began at the Census Bureau in Glasgow, where she dedicated several years of her life serving her community with diligence and integrity. Following her career, she found immense joy in sharing her passion for arts and crafts by teaching ceramics and other creative skills to others. Betty’s generosity in imparting her knowledge and love for creativity left a lasting impact on many. Above all, Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Deborah Casteel (Danny), and her sons, David Pitcock (Tessa) and Christopher Pitcock. She proudly watched as her family grew, leaving behind a legacy of love with her grandchildren: Melissa Pitcock, Chad Casteel (Beverly), Kari Pearson (Daniel), Jenny Honeycutt, Craig Casteel (Amanda), Ashley Dobson (Stephen), and Payton Pitcock. She also adored her 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Betty is remembered by her sister, Alma Akin, and her nephew, Basil Burch Akin (Donna).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Gordon Pitcock.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 8th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday at 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home.
