Betty Vibbert

Betty Vibbert, 85, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away on September 25, 2026, at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow. She was born on March 23, 1941, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Obie Chapman and the late Mamie Decker Chapman.

Betty spent several years working in numerous sewing factories before retiring and becoming a homemaker. Through both her work and her home life, she was known for the care she gave to the things she made and to the people she loved. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and doing puzzles, and she especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Phillips (Donald Bartley); her grandchildren, Alice Bybee (Kenneth), and Whitney Hurt (Kasey); her great-grandchild, Waylon Bybee; her sister, Annie Moock; and her former son-in-law, David Phillips. Her family brought her great joy, and her love for them was an important part of her life.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Vibbert Jr., and her brothers, Bobby Chapman, Red Chapman, David Chapman, and Billy Chapman.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 30th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, and Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. 

Betty will be remembered with love by those who knew her and by the family she held so close to her heart.
