Brenda Joyce Thomas,74, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Watertown, Tennessee, on Friday, July 11, 2025. She was born on May 24, 1951, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to the late Luther Woods and the late Ruby Jewell Nabar. She lived a life filled with love, family, and faith.
Brenda dedicated herself as a stay-at-home mother and homemaker, a role she cherished deeply. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she took immense pride in nurturing her children and creating a warm, loving home. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with her children and her grandchildren, moments she treasured and held close to her heart.
A faithful member of her church, Brenda's love for her community and her spirituality remained steadfast even as her health declined. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and compassion towards others, traits that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Brenda is survived by her daughters: Carla Roe (Junior), Wilma Jewell, Melinda Wetnight, Mary Tidwell (Christopher Johnson), and Rebecca Mora (Will Cancel). She leaves behind an inspiring legacy of love and connection, reflected in the 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward. She is also survived by her brother, Tony Nabar, and her sister, Bonnie Yohe, along with several nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and spirit.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fayette Thomas. She was also preceded by her sister, Diane Franks, and her brother, Joseph Nabar, who, along with her, shaped the person she became and who will be dearly missed.
The family has honored Brenda's wishes with cremation under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
