Delbert Birge

Delbert C. Birge 74 of Temple Hill died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home. He was born in Monroe County a son of the late James Clyde and Chloe Nell Bray Birge. Delbert was an electrician and a farmer and was a former employee at Eaton Axle and was retired from T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a member and a deacon at Temple Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years Helen Maxine McGuire Birge and six brothers Quentin, Bill, Rondall, Ralph, Reggie and Garnett Birge. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Barbara Shaw Matthews Birge; children Margie Gentry (Mark) of Hardyville, Kevin C. Birge (Donna) of Temple Hill and Vicky Key (Dennis) of Glasgow; brother Glen Birge (Shirley) of Glasgow; sister Ruth Ann Woodcock of Glasgow; 6 grandchildren Matthew Gentry, Maegan Trent (Ken), Amber Birge (Tyler Furlong), Brittany Birge, Riley Key (Shea) and Katie Thompson; 4 great-grandchildren Kayden Gentry, Landyn Key, Gavin and Blayklee Thompson. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 31st at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Saturday.
