Doris Jean Wheeler, a beloved member of the community, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Glasgow, Kentucky, at the age of 93. Born on February 10, 1933, in Smith's Grove, she lived a life rich in love, dedication, and service to her family and friends.
Doris was a cherished homemaker who poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home. She also shared her talents with local businesses, working at Handmacher clothing store, serving as an engraver at Awards Inc., and lending her skills at Riherds Sporting Goods. Her commitment to her work and her family exemplified her strong work ethic and devotion. She was a proud member of Browders Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Mike Wheeler (Myra), and special cousin, Joyce Scott. Doris found immense pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren, Ashley Dries (Michael) and Tyler Wheeler (Brooklyn), as well as her great-grandchildren, Sutton and Harper Dries and Roland Wheeler.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Wheeler; her father, Albert France; and her mother, Lizzie Pearl France.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 4th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation we be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, and Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
Doris Jean Wheeler will be remembered for her unwavering love, caring nature, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
