Born on June 15, 1944, Douglas was known far and wide as the proud owner and operator of Wyatt's Gulf, a place he dedicated 58 years of his life to cultivating and managing. His tireless work ethic and commitment made him a respected figure in the community and a beloved presence on South Green Street, where his shop was a second home.
Throughout his life, Douglas was recognized not only for his dedication to his business but also for his love of family and friends. Douglas’s legacy is lovingly carried forward by his devoted wife, Jan Wyatt, to whom he was married for 62 years. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his children, Vicki Britt (Timothy) and Jeff Wyatt, who continue to honor his memory. His grandchildren, Lloyd Douglas Britt, Jessica Britt, Thomas Britt, Dakota Wyatt (Megan), Madison Wyatt; and great-grandchildren, Makayla Brown, Sawyer Wyatt, Serenity Wyatt, and Kingston Cross are a testament to the enduring spirit and warmth that Douglas instilled in his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Romie Wyatt, his mother Gladys Kinslow Wyatt, and his brother Harold Dee Wyatt, who remain in loving remembrance by those who knew them.
