Gladys Evelyn Thomas 89 of Glasgow died Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY. Born in Barren County she is the daughter of the late Mack and Mary Goode Mansfield and wife of the late Vernie Ed Thomas. She was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ, a Licensed Practical Nurse having retired from T. J. Samson Community Hospital, a member of AARP and in the Foster Grandparents Program. Survivors include a daughter Verna Abston (Marvin) of Smiths Grove, KY; two grandchildren Maria Hoots (Mike) of Russellville, KY and Charlie Abston (Leigh Ann) of Franklin, KY; two great grandsons Brennon and Benjamin Abston; one step grandson Marty Abston (Melanie); seven step-great grandsons Matthew, Marvin Douglas, Michael, Christopher, Andrew, Rondall and Samuel Abston; five step-great great granddaughters Ariael, Alexia, Emily, Arianna and Kayleen Abston; two sisters Lena Britt and Ruby Anderson (Bennie); a brother-in-law Preston Thomas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, June 17, 2016 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Foundation Christian Academy or Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
