Glenda Alvey

Glenda Eleanor Alvey, age 76, of Elizabethtown, KY passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 17, 1939 in Grayson County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel Langley Corley. She was a housewife and member of Chapel Union Church. She is survived by three daughters, Debra McKnight of Elizabethtown, Karen Brooks (Richard) of Morgantown, KY, and Mary Schott (Bruce) of Elizabethtown; 4 grandchildren, Crystal McKnight, Joshua McKnight, Tiffany Schroeder and Brittany Brooks, 3 great-grandchildren, Gaige Lyons, Brady Ferguson and Max Hayse; a sister, Jane Waldridge of Glendale, KY. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Alvey; a granddaughter, Amanda Lyons; her brother, Randy Corley; and a brother-in-law, Leon Waldridge.Funeral services will be Saturday, (June 11, 2016) at 11:00 a.m. CDT at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Greg Fields will be officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville on Friday after 11:00 am CDT and Saturday from 9:00 am CDT until time of service.
