Harriett Waldeen Settle

Harriett Waldeen Settle, 97, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Highland Ridge Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Kenneth Clifton “Jack” Settle.

Born to the late Harlan Landrum and Jewell Bishop Landrum, Waldeen lived a long, vibrant life defined by her hard work and an enduring love for her community. While a beautician by trade, her versatile career spanned many roles. For 15 years, she served as a trusted receptionist and nurse for Dr. Hays and Dr. Whiteside. She also brought her welcoming spirit and dedicated work ethic to Glasgow Insurance, Farm Bureau Insurance, and South Central Bank. Above all else, Waldeen’s true passion in both her career and her personal life was simply helping people.

Survivors include, daughter, Vickie (Tommy) Bale of Cave City, KY; grandsons, Thomas (Jamie) Bale, Michael (Cassandra) Bale, and Grant (Emma) Bale; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Lincoln, Gracie, Kenleigh, Landon, and Madison.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy “Buddy” Landrum, and her sister, Dorthy “Dot” Waller.

The funeral service for Harriett will be held at 12:00 P.M, Wednesday, June 3rd, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M, Tuesday, June 2nd, and beginning at 8:00 A.M Wednesday until time for services at the funeral home.
