Inis Shirley

Inis Josephine Shirley 97 of Glasgow, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her home. Born in Metcalfe County she was the daughter of the late Oscar Thomas and Lillie Morgan Sexton and the wife of the late Ray Shirley. Mrs. Shirley was a homemaker and member of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 daughters Betty Tarry and husband Larry of Glasgow, Kathy Dickson and husband Darrell of Edmonton and Loretta Dickson and husband Danny of Glasgow; 7 sons Nolan Shirley of Glasgow. Lendell Shirley and wife Judy of Edmonton, Selby Shirley and wife Betty of Glasgow, Maxie Shirley and wife Darlene of Glasgow, Ronnie Shirley and wife Darlene of Murfreesboro, TN, Leon Shirley and wife Carolyn of Glasgow and Joe Shirley and wife Dawn of Nashville, TN; 2 brothers Kenneth Sexton of Edmonton and Benny Sexton of Columbia, KY; 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Paulette Shirley; 2 sisters Clara Bragg and Zelma Roach; 5 brothers Ollis Sexton, Granville Sexton, Holland Sexton, Chalman Sexton and Dewey Sexton. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Bragg Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Tuesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
