James Otis "Bubba" Trigg, a cherished member of the Glasgow community, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 19, 2026. Born on March 17, 1936, James led a life marked by warmth and love for his family and friends.
James was employed by SKF for many years before retiring. He had a generous spirit and friendly nature. He treasured spending time around his family and enjoyed the excitement of University of Louisville and University of Kentucky basketball games. James always had stories from years gone by and jokes to share when gathering with family and friends. He had a gift for telling tales. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a founding member and organizer of the neighborhood Old Timers Reunion held in the community on Labor Day weekend.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Martha Isable and Virginia Trigg, and his sons Dennis Trigg, Johnny Trigg, Otis Trigg (Darlene), Harold "Wally" Trigg, and Rondall Trigg (LaTokia). James’s legacy lives on through his 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Special nieces and nephews also mourn the loss of “Uncle Bubba” including Joseph Trigg (Allison), Terri Jones, Cedric Trigg, Rodney Trigg (Monica), Erron Trigg, Keith Trigg, Sonya Neal, Christopher Trigg (April), and Dinah Frances, as well as a host of cousins and friends who will dearly miss his presence.
James was preceded in death by the loving mother of his children, Geneva Trigg; his son, Paul Allen Trigg; his parents, Sherman and Mary Trigg; two loving sisters, Mary Katherine Trigg and Nancy Ann Trigg; and a dear brother, Brent Trigg.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 23rd, at First Baptist Church in Glasgow, KY with burial in the Barlow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time for the service at the church.
James Otis "Bubba" Trigg will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
