James Curtis Jessie 78 of Glasgow died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born in Barren Co. he was the son of the late Charlie & Polly Belle Ballard Jessie and husband of the late Beatrice Bush Jessie. Mr. Jessie was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. Survivors include 3 daughters Norma Wright of Edmonton & husband Lynn, Polly Ann Slayton & husband Gilbert of Glasgow and Rita Thomas & husband Steve of Austin; 5 sons James Cecil Jessie & wife Omie of Scottsville, Leo Jessie & wife Reba of Glasgow, David Jessie of Glasgow, Daryle Jessie & wife Beverly of Edmonton and Ricky Jessie & wife Stacy of Glasgow; 6 brothers Lonnie, Johnnie, Pete, Raymond, Joe B. & Lesley Jessie; 4 sisters Pauline Morgan, Nina Young, Mattie Jessie and Nora Jessie; a son-in-law Larry Clark of Horse Cave; 29 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive. In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by a daughter Judy Clark, a brother Charles Henry Jessie and a sister Cindy Jessie. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:30pm Friday at the funeral home.
