Jimmy Kay Harper, age 75, went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 at his residence. He was born on October 14th, 1949, in Horse Cave, Kentucky to the late William Howard Harper and late Nellie (Meredith) Harper.
Jimmy was a deeply spiritual man who never forgot to share God’s love with others. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and was loved and admired by many. The impact of Jimmy’s life will be felt for years to come. He was a founding member, and deacon of Remnant Church in Cave City, Kentucky.
If Jimmy wasn’t sharing his love of God, you could catch him at home whittling on a new walking stick or sending Facebook reels to friends and family. He enjoyed listening to his favorite music, watching Gunsmoke and Beverly Hillbillies, but most of all being around his friends and family.
Jimmy worked for Midway wholesale for many years. Jimmy also worked and retired from Dart container after more than 20 years.
Jimmy was an example of a man driven by his purpose and faith in God.
Jimmy’s legacy will live on forever through the many stories he shared and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Gail Berry Harper; daughter, Cammie Harper; son, Allen Harper (Kasey); grandchildren, Tanner Cahoe (Soren), BreAnna Bragg (Adrian), Zachary Harper, Caleb Harper, Kaylee Fisher, Kody Fisher, and Judah Fisher; Grampy’s great grandchildren, Genesis Cahoe and namesake Maelyne Kay Bragg due in early spring; siblings, Shirley Meadows (Jerry), Mary Ann Brock (Ron), William Harper, Terry Harper, Dickie Harper (Kim), Linda Bentley, Judy Blair, Nancy Philpott (Billy), Leon Harper (Lora); brothers-in-law, Joe Berry and Jeff Crews; sisters-in- law, Donna Harper, Becky Bloyd (Billy), and Anita Berry; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Margie Lane and Tommy Harper; sisters-in- law, Sandy Harper, Wilma Fancher, and Sandra Crews; and brother-in-law, Tim Berry.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Sanctuary Safe Haven fund in Jimmy’s honor at Remnant Church, 7850 North Jackson Hwy. Cave City, Kentucky 42127.
The funeral service for Mr. Harper will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 23rd at Remnant Church in Cave City, Kentucky with burial in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM until time for the service at Remnant Church.
