Katherine Gonzalez

Katherine Opal Gonzalez, 66, of Summer Shade, KY, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 27th, 2022. She was born in Wheeling, WV on December 15, 1955, to the late Juan Gonzalez and Helen Mitchell Kirk, who survives. Katherine worked at Church Hill Downs for 15 years as a waitress. She was a very spiritual person and was admired for being a loving individual. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Harold Gonzalez; son, Joshua Gonzalez (Brittney) of Glasgow; two daughters, Jody Melrose (Steven) of Summer Shade and Helen Tatchell (Dustin) of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many bonus family members and loved ones. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Gonzalez. The family honored Katherine's wishes for cremation, and will have a private Celebration of Life service later at their family farm. A.F.
