Charles Larry Golden, 74, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away October 18, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Glasgow. Kentucky on October 22, 1949 to the late Benjamin Golden and the late Clare Marie Fish (Goode). Charles was known to most as Larry. Larry ventured out at times and moved around to places like Bowling Green and even went as far as Dallas, Texas for a few years to be closer to his kids.
Larry was a bit of a loner, so he kept to himself and did not socialize a whole lot. The ones that knew Larry, knew he was good with his hands. He was an all-around handyman and very talented Carpenter. There wasn’t much that Larry couldn’t build. He loved tinkering around his house working on different projects. Larry was a full-hearted country boy that loved listening to Merl Haggard. Many times, you would catch him singing or whistling to the beat as he worked outside. Larry was a bit hardheaded and stubborn but would give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his son, Brad Golden; daughter, Joy Shepard; several nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Scott Golden; sisters, Donna Golden Doyle, Shirley Thomas, and Marlene Harrison.
The family has honored Larry’s wishes for cremation under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. He was buried beside his son in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens surrounded by family.
