Lonus A. Flener 78 of Glasgow, Kentucky died Sunday August 21, 2005 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, Kentucky the son of Gobel and Loletuth Flener. Mr. Flener was a Graduate of Auburn University College of Pharmacy and was an associate and partner with Parkland Drugs in Cave City, Metcalfe Drugs and Edmonton, Clark Drugs in Munfordville and Ben and Elmer Tractor Company. He was a former member of the Caverna School Board, a past President and member of the Caveland Country Club and the Caverna Jaycees. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII and was a member of the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Jean Phelps Flener; 2 sons Alan Flener and wife Gaye of Glasgow and Bart Flener and wife Candace of Lexington; 2 daughters Alicia Short and husband Kerry of Louisville and Denise Minor and husband Jackie of Glasgow; 1 brother Kermit Flener and wife Ruth of Louisville; 1 sister Mary Lou Flener and husband Junior of Morgantown and 12 grandchildren, Aaron Flener, Luke Flener, Brett Flener, Adam Short, Tyler Short, Ethan Short, Will Short, Kyle Minor, Ellen Minor, Zach Flener, Embrey Flener and Avery Flener. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday August 23, 205 at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Monday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00am until time for services at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ
