Mary Josephine Matney

Josephine Gassaway Matney 89 of Glasgow died Monday, June 19, 2017 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Mrs. Matney was the daughter of the late Buford and Ruby Morrow Gassaway. She was a homemaker and a member of Hillside Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband William S. "Bill" Matney and several cousins, including; Hope Williams, Carolyn Fields, J. W. Gassaway, Wallace Gassaway, Laverne Watson, Barbara Glass, Marvin Devore, Donald Devore, Bonnie Gassaway, Norma Gosser and Mary Lowe. Several close friends and neighbors also survive. She was preceded in death by two local cousins, Callie Page and Johnny Gibbs. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 22nd at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 until 2:00.
