Mattie Slayton

Mattie Eveline Slayton 85 of Glasgow died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at T. J Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Whetstone, KY the daughter of the late Dave Douglas Westmoreland and Sally Jane Johnson Westmoreland. She was a former employee of the dietary department at T. J. Samson Community Hospital and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church but had been attending services at Glenview Healthcare. Survivors include 3 children, Amy Green (Danny) of Glasgow, Jessie Douglas Poindexter (Becky) of Glasgow and Bernice Maness of Smiths Grove; 5 grandchildren Sandy Green, John Poindexter, Carol Ann Dennison, Douglas Lee Poindexter and Michael Allen Poindexter; 10 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Neal Poindexter (Janelle) of Burkesville and Bill Westmoreland (Norma) of San Diego, CA; 2 sisters Shirley Bogard and Reba Adcock of Louisville and a very special friend Mary Ann Brown. She was preceded in death by a daughter Lana Gean Poindexter. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Henderson Cemetery at Finney. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10am until time for the service.
