Melba Davis Humphrey 84 of Glasgow died Monday, November 7, 2011 at Glenview Health Care in Glasgow. Born in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Katie Staples Davis. Her husband was the late Kenneth N. Humphrey. Melba was a 1946 graduate of Temple Hill High School and an employee of the J.J. Newberry Store for 43 years where she managed the fountain/lunch counter. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by 3 sisters, Naomi Edmunds and Betty Wright (Billy) all of Glasgow and Sue Gray of Campbellsville; a sister-in-law Carol Davis of Indianapolis, IN; 4 nephews Danny Joe Edmunds of Glasgow, Robbie Gray of Bowling Green, Dale Pitcock and Wendell Davis, Jr. both of Indianapolis and 5 nieces Susan Sprowles of Campbellsville, Deborah Gray of Henderson, and Pam Pitcock, Vickie Davis and Leslee Hill all of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Wendell Alan Davis and Charles Otha Davis, 2 brothers-in-law Kenneth Gray and John Edmunds and a niece Lesia Kaye Edmunds. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday.
