Melvin Eugene Wilson, age 89, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Barren County on December 11, 1934, he was the son of his late parents, Robert and Pauline Wilson. He was a farmer growing up and an avid hunter. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1957 to 1959. He worked at Huttig Sash and Door, Boland Maloney Lumber Company, and retired as a truck driver from Holland Motor Express after 30 years.
Survivors include four children, daughter, Jeannie Poynter (Ricky) and sons, Robert "Bobby" Wilson (Lois), Terry Wilson (Brenda), and Mark Wilson (Donna); seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Betty Sue Coffee; one brother, O'Dell Wilson; a brother-in-law, Ralph Lynn (Joann) several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Kathy Wilson; five brothers, James Robert Wilson, Marion Wilson, Dee Wilson, Kenny Wilson, and Collie Wilson; three sisters, Annabelle Martin, Mary Lou Deweese, and Francis Taylor; a great granddaughter, Asia Caffee
The funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 2nd, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
