Mildred Smith

Mildred Leola Byrd Smith 80 of Glasgow went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 17, 2011 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Walter Alonzo Byrd and Pearlie Bell Emmitt Byrd. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church near Beckton and was a former employee of Handmacher. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stokley L. Smith; a son Jerry (Freda) Smith of Glasgow; 5 grandsons Scott (Stacey) Smith of Clarkson, KY, Jeremy (BJ) Smith of Murfreesboro, TN, Sgt. Jeffrey Smith of Ft. Knox, Jimmy (Ammiegail) Simpson and Michael Simpson of Lawrenceburg; 1 granddaughter Spc. Brittanie (Jason) Westerlund of Ft. Bliss, TX; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Virginia Green of Glasgow and Stella Matthews of Lexington and 1 brother Carl (Doris) Byrd of Eighty Eight and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Wilbur L. Smith, 2 sisters Captola Crumpton and Mary Katherine Lewis, 1 brother Lonnie
