Richard Allen Cloyd, age 56, died unexpectedly Friday, September 2, 2022 at his home in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on November 2, 1965 to the late Orville Wheeler, Jr. and Christine Rhinehart Cloyd. Richard was the youngest of 4 brothers. His brother, Raymond Cloyd preceded him in death. He is survived by his brothers, Michael Cloyd (Diane) of Glasgow, Kentucky and Robert Cloyd (Jennifer) of Cave City, Kentucky; One sister-in-law, Linda Cloyd of Elizabethtown,Ky: along with his fur babies, Baxter and Lily Grace; and many nieces, nephews, and several cousins who cherished him. Richard is survived by his partner and friend of nearly a decade, Gene Moore, also of Catlettsburg, Kentucky and countless other friends in Nashville, Tennessee. Richard currently worked at The Home Depot leading the Merchandise Execution Team. He also met many of his lifelong friends through his previous employment at The Other Place and Property Management with Apogee New Dawn and Brookside Properties Richard never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with friends, singing karaoke, and dancing whenever and wherever the mood struck him (which was often). Richard enjoyed going on many adventures, whether it be zip lining or vacations to fun locations. After spending the majority of his life in Nashville and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he returned to Kentucky almost a year ago, with Gene, where he found his perfect little place in this world; a little house, lots of land, and a front porch to sit on and take it all in with his favorite dogs by his side. A graveside service for Mr. Cloyd will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, September 17th at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Richard will be laid to rest alongside both, his mother and father. There will be a separate celebration of life in Richard's honor in Nashville, Tennessee so that all his many friends can get together to share stories and love for Richard. A. F.
