Robert Borders

Robert Mitchell Borders, Sr. 86 of Glasgow died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his home. He was born July 10, 1929 to William and Melissa Carver Borders. After many successful years working at Glasgow Monument Company, he expanded and acquired the business which is now Borders Monument Company. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Edith Kinslow, Lydia Wheeler, Helen Adams, Juanita McDonald, Marie Thomas Palmore and Virginia Vaughn; brothers Baby Thomas Elwood, James and Carlton Borders; and his son Robert Mitchell Borders, Jr. who preceded him in death in 2014. He is survived by 2 sons Mark Borders of Glasgow and Kay Borders (Patty) of Jacksonville, FL; 2 daughters Susie Borders Fields of Edmonton and Mary Ann Blair (Art) of Greeneville, TN; and special friends Casey and Ciara Chambers. He is also survived by his grandchildren Leticia Borders Crain, Bronston (Sarah) Fields, Sherrell (Jim) Powell, Heather (Jason) King, Landon (Sarah) Borders and Joy Blair. Precious to have time with their "Pachen" are great grandchildren Zack Doyle, Devon Repass, Wyatt and Jenna Fields, Azaria Crain, Layne and Noah King, Harper and Davis Borders along with Braylee and Bensen Chambers. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, June 10th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5pm until 8pm and Friday morning until services. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the family or funeral home to assist in final expenses.
