Robert E. Richardson, formerly of Eighty Eight, Kentucky died Friday, June 10, 2016 at T. J. Samson Hospital after a short illness. Robert, the son of Bob and Mary Branstetter Richardson, was born at Eighty Eight on May 23, 1923. He had been a loyal and dedicated member of Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church since 1939. He served as deacon and had the distinction of having been a member for 77 years, longer than anyone in the current congregation. He was married to Nina Tucker Richardson, who preceded him in death. After their marriage in 1943, they were co-operators of Richardson Brothers in Eighty Eight, Kentucky until their retirement in 1986. They ran this family business, founded in 1873, with his brothers, Brents and Paul, and their wives, Rebecca and Eva. After retirement and closing of the business, he worked for Bailey Gibson Buick-GMC for twenty years. Survivors include one son, Bobby H. Richardson (Elaine), one grandson, Clay Brents Richardson (Lisa), and two great grandchildren, John Robert and Lucy Brents Richardson. In addition, surviving nieces and nephews are Mary Ann Simmons (Rollin), Dan Richardson (Tina), Linda Glass (Cecil), and Joe Bacon. He was preceded in death by brothers Ivan (Maoma), Brents (Rebecca), Paul (Eva), a sister Mildred Froedge (Earl), and a niece Donnie Sue Bacon (Joe). Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 13th at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
