Roger Anthony Hampton, age 60, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Glasgow, Kentucky. Roger was born June 7, 1961, in Greenfield, Tennessee to the late Jerry Hall Hampton and Martha Oliver Hampton who survives. Roger was a 1979 graduate of Glasgow High School where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. After completing a year at Western Kentucky University, he joined the workforce, He held numerous jobs through the years, however, none he was more proud of than his 12 years of service to the Glasgow Fire Department. Roger was a dog lover, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid sports fan. He served as a football coach of the Redskins for the Glasgow Little League for 20 years. He had an effortless sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends, but he had no greater love than his children and grandchildren which were his pride and joy. He had a tough guy exterior but the most genuine, loving, tender heart. He is survived by his three children, JW Hampton (Sarah) and Will Hampton of Bowling Green,KY, one daughter, Kaitie Bray (Spencer) of Glasgow, Kentucky, 2 grandchildren whom he adored, Owen and Evie Hampton of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and his former wife and forever family, Cindy Norman Hampton also of Glasgow. In addition, Roger is survived by his mother, Martha Hampton, two brothers, Randy Hampton, and Ron Hampton (Lori An), and one sister, Amy Stephens (Scott), all of Glasgow. He is also survived by his nephews, Kaleb Hampton of Louisville, and Cole Stephens of Glasgow as well as 2 nieces, Ali Grace Hampton of Bowling Green and Jaeden Stephens of Glasgow and an extended family, both maternal and paternal of West Tennessee and Michigan who loved him dearly. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lester & Rubye Oliver, and his paternal grandparents, Rev. Raymond & Norene Hampton. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, November 30th at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday 5:00pm - 8:00pm and on Tuesday morning until time for service at the funeral home. A.F. Crow & Son is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Hampton.
