Sandra Faye Gibson

Sandra Faye Gibson, 66, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away February 13, 2024, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. She was born December 29, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late Otis Gibson and the late Juanita (Pritchett) Gibson. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

She was a loving mother who cherished her children, grandbabies, and her family. She adored her plants and bird watching out her window. She also loved cookies and she wanted them now! She was a joy to be around, she loved to laugh, she would never let you win at a hand of cards. She loved to have her nails polished, jewelry on, and a thick pair of chanclas. She was the glue that held the family together. Sandra was resilient, feisty, and defied all odds. She was selfless, empathetic, a peacemaker, and would help anyone who needed her.

Survivors include her six children, Rhonda Valenzuella,Jacob Valenzuella, Shyla Drake, Eli Drake, Clara Ashby, Jessica Gibson; eight grandchildren, Rhianna Salgado, Raya Salgado, Cairi Stratton, Kayden Ashby, Oakley Ashby, James Stratton, Blake Ashby, Topaz “Sky” Hinds; siblings, Otis “Clay” Gibson, Joseph Gibson. Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is reunited with her sisters, Jenell Gibson, and Kathleen “Kathy” Gibson; brother, Andrew “Len” Gibson, and son, Justin Valenzuella.

Her family has chosen to honor her wishes of cremation.

The family will have a memorial service at a later time.
