Shannon Renee Oliver, a beloved figure in her community and a cherished member of her family, passed away on January 1, 2026, at Shanti Niketon Hospice Home. Born on January 13, 1969, in Glasgow, Kentucky, Shannon's vibrant spirit and infectious smile touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Shannon devoted herself wholeheartedly to her role as Office Manager for McMurtrey Chiropractor, where she regarded her coworkers as family, forming deep and lasting connections. Known for her kind and welcoming nature, Shannon brought joy to the workplace through her playful personality and penchant for pranks—qualities that highlighted her love for life.
Alongside her professional endeavors, Shannon was profoundly committed to her faith and her church, Mt. Tabor, where she found solace and strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, dedicating her life to the well-being of those she loved. Her interests included a passion for antiques and anything old, which perfectly complemented her appreciation for life's history and stories.
Shannon's family includes her loving husband, Steven Oliver; her son, Tate Simmons; her stepson, A.J. Honeycutt; and her sister, Toye Medford (Todd). She is also survived by her brother, David Jackman (April); her stepfather, Joe Jackman; her best friend, Dr. Kelly McMurtrey Thompson (Timmy); her cherished niece, Cara Norris (Lane); her niece, Jordan Jackman; her special nieces, Mia and Lexie Thompson; and her devoted aunt, Margaret Billingsley.
Shannon is preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Jordan and her father-in-law, J.C. Oliver.
A memorial service to celebrate Shannon's life will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home concluding at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
The love Shannon shared and the memories she created will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
