Shelby Jean Gillock, 83, passed away on October 12, 2026, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born on July 8, 1943, in Lafayette, Tennessee, to the late James Ewing Davis and the late Lena Belle Likens Davis.
Shelby was a homemaker and farmer, and she cherished both roles. She loved caring for her family and working alongside them on the family farm. Her days were filled with the things she enjoyed most: watching game shows and westerns, working crossword puzzles, crocheting, and cooking for family and friends. She also loved working with flowers and had a special talent for making everything she tended grow into something beautiful.
Above all, Shelby’s life was centered on her family. She is survived by her sons, Mike Gillock (Marsha) and Glen Gillock (Sherry); her daughter, Regina Clay (Alvin); her grandchildren, Hannah Woerdeman (Mark), Tyler Gillock, Conner Gillock, and River Clay; brother, Larry Davis; sisters, Judy Wooten (Danny) and Joyce Martin; sister-in-law, Edna Monroe; several nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Vangy Owens. She will be remembered with love for the care she gave so freely, the meals she prepared, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Buddy" Clifton Gillock; her sister, Phyllis Davis; her grandchild, Elizabeth Grace Gillock; brother-in-law, Jimmy Monroe; and sister-in-law, Martha Davis.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Greenview Hospital Nursing staff, Greenwood Nursing and Rehab staff, Vangy Owens, Alvin, Gina, and River for the amazing care that she received.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 16, 2026 and after 8:00 AM Saturday, until time for the service at the funeral home.
Shelby Jean Gillock will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
