Stanley Cleveland Greer, born March 17, 1941, in Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky. His life was a testament to the values of service, devotion, community, and love for family.

Stanley’s roots in Glasgow ran deep, and he devoted much of his life to strengthening the ties within his beloved community. He spent several years working at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, where his kind spirit and gentle presence brought comfort to many families during their most difficult times. Stanley often lent his voice to sing at the funerals he served, offering solace through music. His involvement extended beyond his professional role; he served on the Board of Directors for SCRTC for several years, contributing his leadership and commitment to the betterment of Glasgow. Stanley embraced service in many forms, including his active participation in the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. 

Even after retirement, Stanley remained active and engaged, finding joy in working on his farm. His love for the land and the peacefulness of rural life reflected his appreciation for the simple and meaningful things.

One of Stanley’s greatest passions was music. For numerous years, he was a dedicated member of several gospel singing groups, including the Temple Trio and the Southern Harmony Boys. Together, they touched many hearts with their performances at prominent places such as the Grand Ole Opry and countless local venues. These groups also brought songs of comfort and cheer to nursing homes throughout the community, brightening days and forging cherished memories through their harmonies.

Stanley embraced service in many forms, including his active participation in the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club.

He possessed a genuine zest for life, embracing hobbies such as hunting, fishing, playing music, and riding his Harley. Above all, Stanley cherished time spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. His warm laughter, generous heart, and easy camaraderie enriched every gathering.

Stanley was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving sons, Gregory Greer (Zina) and Anthony Greer (Joy); grandchildren, Hannah Carrigan (Kristian), Cody Greer (Jessica), and Gunnar Greer; and great-grandchildren, Kenzie Greer, Ellie Greer, Hadley Carrigan, Addie Carrigan, and Nate Carrigan. Their lives have been indelibly shaped by his love and guidance.

Stanley is now reunited with those who went before him, his beloved wife Peggy Berryman Greer; his father, Stanley Greer Sr.; his mother, Charles Dean Francis Greer; and his son Brad Greer, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Caney Fork Cemetery in Stanley's honor.

The funeral service for Mr. Greer will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 3rd, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial at Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, and Monday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.

Stanley Cleveland Greer’s legacy lives on through the love he shared, the music he created, and the lives he touched. His kindness, dedication, and unwavering spirit will be long remembered by all who knew him.
