Stanley Roger Mills, 77, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. He also spent time at Signature Healthcare in Horse Cave, Kentucky, where he was given excellent and loving care. He was born on April 30, 1948, in Madison, Indiana, to the late Earnest Stanley Mills and the late Clarine Burgess Mills and resided in the Bedford area near Kings Ridge. Stanley was of the Baptist faith and loved visiting churches over his life. He graduated from Trimble County High School in 1966.

He bravely served his country in the US Army from 1967 to 1968 as a Specialist 4 with the 20th Infantry Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) during the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, Stanley pursued his career at RR Donnelley where he worked for 40 years and retired as a press room supervisor.

Stan had three children during his marriage to Debbie Chaney: Stacy from Stuart, Florida, Kathy, and Andy (Marilyn), both of Glasgow, Kentucky. Grandchildren include Lexi Mills of Bowling Green and Linc Mills of Glasgow, Kentucky. He was currently married to Sherry Hall Mills for the past 33 years, after reconnecting at his 25th class reunion. His stepchildren were Anissa Hall of Madison, Indiana, and Robert B. Hall of Louisville, Kentucky. His step-grandchildren were Lacy Reed (Paul) of Central, Indiana, Tyler Scott of Glasgow, Kentucky, Travis Mitchell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Taylor Hall of Cave City, Kentucky, and Gemma Donnovan of Oklahoma. He also leaves behind his brothers, Carroll Bewley of Florida and Ron Mills of California, and his special cousin, Sandra Poynter of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Stan had a lifelong passion for fishing, arrowhead hunting, reading, and tending to his yard through mowing and landscaping. He was also a dedicated UK basketball fan. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and daily mission to bring laughter to those around him.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Stanley Mills; his mother, Clarine Burgess Mills; his step-daughter, Natalie Hall Michell; and his in-laws, Raymond (Doc) and Lucille Boldery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to BRAWA, in honor of Stanley and his love for animals.

The family has honored Stanley’s wishes with cremation under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
