Virginia Wood

Virginia Wood, age 89, of Cave City, Kentucky, passed away on September 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born on March 3, 1937, in Richmond Virgina, to the late Purcell White and the late Alice (Bailey) White. She was a baker and a member of Harlow’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wood.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Rudolph Dodson Sr, Larry Dodson, and Wilburn Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Peter Roosevelt Dodson IV, Miakia Dodson, Kendra Renee Dodson, Antonio Dodson, Nicole Leann Dodson, Alexandrea Dodson, Bailee M. Fitzpatrick, Isaac D. Fitzpatrick, Isaiah D. Fitzpatrick, Gabriela V. Fitzpatrick, Samuel P. Fitzpatrick, Brittney V. Fitzpatrick; great grandchildren, Devonnah Dodson, Raven Dodson, Hannah Dodson, Sierra Dodson, Aaliyah King, Amanee Dodson, Zayden Dodson; great-great grandchildren, Julius Marable, Taylin Edwards, Jaylex Dodson, Anitra Boyd, Omari Boyd, Leiani Boyd, Kelaiah Beard, Kadence Beard

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Peter Dodson III; siblings, Percell White, Horace White, and Joseph White.

The family has chosen cremation under the direction of A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
